The Pratt School of Engineering is seeking out exceptional scholars/engineers/teachers for an Assistant Research faculty position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Applications are particularly invited from candidates who will build research strength in the areas of machine learning, signal processing, image processing and computer vision. Candidates should have a background in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, computer vision, statistical signal processing, and applications of these techniques. Strong candidates will have experience applying such techniques to real-world applications involving remote sensing data (particularly satellite imagery) and timeseries sensor data. Successful candidates will also have an outstanding track record of both written and oral communication, with preference to candidates who have directly briefed research sponsors. Evidence of significant mentoring capabilities are also sought. Of particular interest is experience with applications in energy systems including remote sensing based analysis of power systems and their impacts as well as smart meter data analysis (including non-intrusive load monitoring). Successful candidates are expected to have an established research record, be capable of obtaining competitive external research funding, and actively participate in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
