The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures (MLL) invites applications for a tenure- track Assistant Professor position in Spanish and Hispanic Studies, effective August 2023. All requirements for the Ph.D. in Spanish and Hispanic Studies or directly related field must be earned by employment date. The candidate should have at least one year of teaching experience in US institutions at the college level, including graduate teaching fellowships. Native or near- native proficiency in Spanish is required. Primary area of specialization should be 20th and 21st century Caribbean literature and culture. 

The successful candidate will join a faculty in the MLL department that has a strong commitment to research and teaching. The successful candidate will contribute significant scholarship to their field and teach a wide range of language, literature, and culture courses to undergraduates. Teaching load is two courses per semester. Faculty members in our department participate in interdisciplinary programs, such as Latin American and Latino Studies, Global Studies, and Film and Documentary Studies, among others.
