Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellowship
position in the group of Prof. Thomas Scaffidi at the University of Toronto,
starting in Fall 2019.
Description of duties: The Postdoctoral Fellow will
conduct research in the area of Condensed Matter Physics and Quantum Many-Body
Theory, under the supervision of Prof. Scaffidi. Topics of interest include
(but are not limited to): ·
Hydrodynamics of quantum systems ·
Quantum chaos ·
Topological matter and quantum criticality ·
New numerical methods in quantum many-body
theory ·
Superconductivity

with other research groups at U of T (both theoretical and experimental) will
be encouraged.
Required qualifications: ·
PhD
in Theoretical Condensed Matter physics or in a closely related field ·
Solid
background in analytical and numerical methods of many-body quantum physics ·
Experience
with novel computational approaches, specifically Quantum Monte Carlo, and/or
Tensor Networks, and/or Machine Learning
