As a research associate you will be responsible for, coordinating the Bass Connections program to evaluate the clinical, economic and political viability of the Pocket Colposcope in the US and Peru. You will work directly with Marlee Krieger on the creation of course documents including the syllabus, lecture plan and written assignments. You will serve as the team leader within the Bass Connections class and attend the Bass Connections class weekly. It is expected that you hold office hours with students once a week or once every other week. This work will be synergistic to the Collaboratory Project led by Drs. Nimmi Ramanujam and Megan Huchko. You will also work on data collection and analysis for both projects as well as data dissemination. You will also be involved with training users on the Pocket Colposcope and/or the Callascope, particularly those in Spanish-speaking countries. Please expect that up to 50% of your job will be administrative as you will be expected to assist lab staff in managing the center’s research, clinical implementation, and educational activities. Specifically, in your administrative role, you will be asked to assist with scheduling for the Center’s Director, Nimmi Ramanujam and organizing lab events and meetings. You will also be responsible for Center communications which involves developing website content, including stories, articles, designs, videos, and integrated connections to multimedia and social networking opportunities. You will also assist with the employee newsletter to include writing articles, providing photographic services, performing layout duties and interacting closely with directors to ensure adequate coverage of human interest stories, operational and organization plans, employee benefits and other areas of employee interests.

All members of the Center are expected to create weekly updates in the form of powerpoint presentations, create meeting agendas and record meeting minutes. You will also be expected to identify grant opportunities and directly apply for grants with Dr. Ramanujam. You will be expected to work full-time, 40-hours per week and expected to follow the handbook and all policies of the Center for Global Women’s health technologies. Marlee Krieger will serve as your direct supervisors. Please be sure to schedule 30-, 60- and 90-day evaluations with her. You will be required to attend the Duke orientation as well as the Center specific orientation.
