Visiting Research Scholar

The Shen Lab at Duke University, Department of Biomedical Engineering, has an opening for a Visiting Research Scholar. An earned BS degree in life science or food science related majors is preferred. The candidate will perform laboratory assays to characterize interactions between the gastrointestinal epithelium, nutrients, and microbes. Assays such as PCR, RNA-seq, metabolomics, and 3D intestinal organoids will be used to measure such interactions. The candidate also needs to maintain necessary laboratory functions including ordering reagents and supplies and maintaining relevant equipment. The candidate will work with PhDs and postdocs in the Shen lab to learn the necessary laboratory skills and support their research activities.
