We seek an Associate in Research to work at Duke University on an exciting new project at the interface of machine learning and healthcare. The associate will develop new tools that combine computer vision with electronic health record analysis to provide real-time clinical decision support after traumatic brain injury. Please note this is a short term position (6 months). Specific Work Performed • Build technical infrastructure for processing CT image volumes in real time • Clean and curate large clinical datasets • Build, train, and evaluate new multi-modal deep learning models • Perform exploratory data analysis Other Work Performed and Expectations • Document progress consistently and add progress reports to the lab archive • Attend weekly lab meetings • Communicate with staff and students in the lab, and assist in training new lab members to use established protocols Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. The applicant should have experience with Python programming and deep learning APIs, but there are no formal requirements for the type of degree. The position will provide opportunities to co-author publications and build a productive portfolio for applying to graduate programs or industry jobs in any field valuing experience with machine learning or clinical data science.
