The Sociology and Anthropology Department at Colgate University invites applications for one or more visiting assistant professor positions in cultural anthropology beginning fall semester 2019. This position is for one year, with up to three years possible, pending institutional need. Preference for medical anthropology or global public health. Other areas considered include (but are not limited to): science and technology studies, anthropology of media, environmental anthropology, anthropology of food, economic anthropology. Geographic region open. Completion of Ph.D. in Anthropology is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. Prior teaching experience preferred. Ideal candidates will be able to teach Introduction to Cultural Anthropology and an array of electives in their areas of specialization. The successful candidates will be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.
