The Sociology and Anthropology Department at Colgate University welcomes applications for two visiting assistant professor positions in sociology, to begin fall semester 2023. These positions have the possibility of being renewed beyond one year, pending performance and institutional need. The area of specialization is open. We are particularly interested in candidates that can teach our departments' electives in areas that include but are not limited to: race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, popular culture and media, work and organizations, politics and social movements, environmental, urban and rural sociology. Previous undergraduate teaching experience is desirable. Completion of a PhD. in Sociology is required prior to or shortly after the date of hire. Colgate operates on the semester schedule, and the expected teaching load is a 2-3 (5 courses over the course of the year).
