The intensity frontier effort within the High Energy Physics group at Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher. Our current program is focused on the Belle II experiment, which will begin accumulating data in early 2018. The successful candidate will participate in data analysis including but not limited to weak flavor physics and also contribute to CMU efforts on dE/dx reconstruction, calibration, and simulation. It is expected, but not required, that the position would be based primarily in Pittsburgh, with travel to KEK (Japan) as needed.

Our department is also active on the CMS experiment at the LHC along with significant efforts in particle theory, cosmology, and medium-energy physics, making for a rich environment.

A Ph.D. in experimental high-energy or medium-energy physics is required by the time of the initial appointment. Applicants should supply a cover letter detailing research interests, a curriculum vitae, and a publication list indicating significant contributions. Three letters of recommendation are also required. Applications may be submitted via Academic Jobs Online, at

The position is available beginning in the spring of 2018 and is renewable annually. Review of applications will begin Dec 31, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled.
