Applications are solicited for one or more postdoctoral positions at the University of Maryland, College Park, focused on the interface between quantum information science, quantum field theory, and nuclear physics. Although applicants with expertise in the above-mentioned areas will be favored, those with a theoretical and computational background in all areas of nuclear physics, high-energy physics, many-body physics, atomic, molecular and optical physics, and classical and quantum computational sciences will also be considered. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in acquiring knowledge and developing skills required for this position.

The post-doc researcher will work at the new Physical Sciences Complex on the campus of UMD, with a close proximity to a strong and diverse community of faculty, fellows and researchers at the Maryland Center for Fundamental Physics (MCFP), Joint Quantum Institute (JQI) and Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science (QuICS) at the UMD.

The start date of the appointment is Fall 2020. Earlier or later start dates can be negotiated. The term of the position is two years which can be renewed for an extra year upon satisfactory performance. In addition to salary and benefits, the position includes a modest fund to cover research-related expenditures.
