The Macalester College Department of Philosophy invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track appointment, to begin in the fall semester of 2023. Reappointment for a second year may be possible. The successful candidate should have a PhD in Philosophy (in hand or expected by time of appointment), but advanced ABD candidates may also be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. The teaching load is five courses per year. Salary and benefits are competitive. We expect (but are not yet guaranteed) to run a national search for a tenure-track position in Philosophy of Language and/or Philosophy of Mind in either the ‘23-‘24 or ‘24-‘25 academic year
