The Department of Romance Studies at Duke University is seeking a qualified instructor in French for a one-year renewable appointment. Qualifications requested for candidates: ABD or PhD in second language acquisition, applied linguistics, language pedagogy, or related areas. This is a full-time position (5 courses per year) with competitive salary and benefits. We seek candidates with a demonstrated excellence in teaching at introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels of language instruction; experience in curriculum design; a proven ability to work effectively in teams; and a strong interest in working with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. Native or near-native fluency in French and English is required.
