The Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University invites applications from outstanding political scientists with a specialization in comparative politics for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor. The department is committed to building an intellectually vibrant, culturally inclusive, and academically diverse community of exceptional faculty. Qualifications We will give priority to important research that builds synergies within the department, and across other units at Vanderbilt University. We are especially interested in receiving applications from scholars whose work addresses issues related to democratic development, political economy, and/or identity politics. We likewise welcome applications from scholars who specialize in Asia and/or Eastern Europe, to help facilitate scholarship and curricular bridges between the Department of Political Science and the Vanderbilt Asian Studies Department and/or the Max Kade Center for European and German Studies. Candidates able to assist in graduate training in quantitative methods, formal theory, or other methods should indicate those competencies. The appointment will begin Fall 2023. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. The Committee will begin reviewing files as early as September 1, 2022.
