Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Theoretical Particle Physics (QCD-Collider)
Grade 7: £31,604 - £38,833 p.a.

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Theoretical Particle Physics (QCD-Collider) at the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics of the University of Oxford, to work in the Particle Theory Group, supported by STFC. The post is available for two years from 01-Oct-2018.

This project will investigate all aspects of QCD and Collider physics, with particular focus on the ongoing programme at the Large Hadron Collider. The successful candidate will carry out research in theoretical particle physics within the general areas supported by the STFC grant.

Applicants should possess, or be very close to obtaining a doctorate in physics or a related field, and a strong background in theoretical physics. Previous experience in the field of QCD/Collider Physics will be an advantage. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a capacity for independent research work and should have a publication record commensurate with career stage. The post-holder will have the opportunity to teach.
