Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Theoretical Biological Physics at the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics of the University of Oxford
The position is available for a fixed-term duration of 3 years.
This project will use methods from statistical mechanics and algorithmic information theory to investigate evolutionary patterns in biological development.
The successful candidate will report to Prof Ard Louis. Duties include managing own academic research and administrative activities, adapting existing and developing new research methodologies, presenting papers and representing the research group at external meetings and seminars.
Applicants should hold a PhD, or be close to completion in physics or a related field and ideally have a strong background in Theoretical Physics, Theoretical Biology, or a closely related discipline. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a capacity for independent research work and should have a publication record commensurate with career stage.
The post holder will have the opportunity to teach.
