The Department of Statistical Science at Duke University is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in statistical science. The Associate will work on methodological research related to one or more of the following topics, depending on the candidate's interests: (1) generating and assessing disclosure risks of synthetic data in complex surveys, (2) designing and obtaining valid inferences from differentially private algorithms, and (3) handling missing values in large-scale social science data. The Associate will be supervised by Jerry Reiter, professor in the Department of Statistical Science.

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in statistical science or a related field and will have strong background in Bayesian modeling and computation, and an interest in social science/government applications. No previous experience in data confidentiality or missing data methods is necessary, although such experience is viewed favorably. The Associate will be expected to participate in methodological research leading to publications in top statistical and applied journals. The appointment will be for a one-year contract with potential for renewal.

Applicants should apply through Academic Jobs Online (https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/23192). Materials to upload include a CV, a statement of background and interests in the particular research described above, and contact information only for three references.

All applications received by November 15 will be fully considered. The position will remain open until filled.
