The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign high energy theory group anticipates having several open postdoctoral research positions commencing in the fall of 2020.  Appointments are for a two year term with potential extension to a third year. We are seeking candidates specializing in physics beyond the Standard Model and related topics, such as (but not limited to) dark matter, astroparticle physics, and early-universe cosmology. Faculty working in the area of interest are Peter Adshead, Patrick Draper, Yonatan Kahn, and Jessie Shelton.
Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a statement of research interests, and arrange to have three letters of reference uploaded. In order to receive full consideration, applications should be submitted by December 1, 2019.

Please note that the Illinois high energy theory group is also seeking applicants for postdoctoral positions in other research areas, for which there are additional advertisements posted on Academic Jobs Online. Applicants with research interests in lattice field theory and quantum information, including (but not limited to) lattice QCD calculations for flavor and neutrino physics, as well as quantum simulations for theories of interest in high energy physics, should apply to the HEPLAT posting. Applicants specializing in string theory, gauge-gravity duality, and quantum information should apply to the QGQI posting.

The University of Illinois is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and ideas who embrace and value diversity and inclusivity (
