Please submit a letter of application, CV, a statement about your research, a statement about your interests in teaching at a liberal arts college, a statement addressing your demonstrated ability to mentor a diverse student body, and three letters of recommendations by November 15, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. EST to https://academicjobsonline.org. Pomona College is a highly selective liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 1650 students, all undergraduates. Pomona College supports equal access to higher education and values working in a richly diverse environment. We seek to attract postdoctoral fellows who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and who are able to demonstrate a commitment to improving higher education for underrepresented students through their teaching, scholarship, or service. Pomona College, located 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, is the founding member of the Claremont Colleges, which also include Claremont McKenna, Scripps, Pitzer, Harvey Mudd, and Claremont Graduate University. Collectively, the Claremont Colleges constitute an academic community of 6,000 students. As a result, Pomona students enjoy both the personalized instruction and close faculty-student interactions afforded by a small liberal arts college as well as the intellectual and extracurricular resources typically found at much larger universities. In collaboration with the Claremont Colleges Consortium, Pomona College offers a variety of professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities for junior faculty/postdoctoral fellows. |
