The Jonathan Mattingly Lab in the department of Mathematics at Duke University has an opening for an Associate in Research for Dr. Mattingly’s Gerrymandering Project A 12-month Associate in Research position in Mathematics is available in the Mattingly lab at Duke University. Our current research focuses on the Quantifying of Gerrymandering and other related projects. This position will involve Code development, writing of documentation, performing analysis in Python and Julia, cloud Computing, and designing new multi-scale graph algorithms. There will also be TA and instructional duties. Applicants must provide proof of Bachelor’s degree prior to hire and should have a strong background in Computer Science and discrete mathematics. Strong research skills, including code development, writing documentation and performing analysis in Python and Julia are essential. The Mattingly lab offers a congenial research environment that fosters a collaborative research environment. The lab is based in Duke's Department of Mathematics.
