The Lab of Dr. Kirsten Wickelgren in the department of Mathematics at Duke University has an opening for an Associate in Research working on A1 zeta functions and supporting abstract algebra.
Zeta functions of varieties over finite fields, studied by Weil, Dwork, Grothendieck, Deligne among others, are rational functions with integer coefficients determined by the Galois action on the etale cohomology groups. We study enrichments using A1 homotopy theory and supporting abstract algebra.
