The Instructional Resource Program Manager is responsible for all laboratory and demonstration equipment in the Physics Department at the University of Notre Dame, including on-line documentation for faculty ease of execution. This is a staff position. These duties include performing a variety of technical tasks related to the physics laboratory and demonstration operations including the procurement, testing, and maintenance of scientific equipment as well as organizing, inventorying, and purchasing equipment and supplies to facilitate teaching objectives. The Instructional Resource Program Manager is responsible for interfacing with faculty about demonstration equipment that they need assembled or available for their lectures, and provides that equipment to them in a timely manner. This person is aware of the content of all laboratory courses on a weekly basis, is actively involved in organizing equipment, troubleshooting laboratory and demonstration activities, and works closely with laboratory director to improve the quality and technical sophistication in experimental design. This person may also be asked to help hire and supervise undergraduate lab assistants in their work. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Physics or related STEM field; mechanically inclined with a basic knowledge of electronics and computers; strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
