The Department of Theater at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure stream position in Dance at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in the fall semester of 2019. Completion of the terminal degree Ph.D or M.F.A. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. Although a Ph.D. is preferred, candidates with an M.F.A. and significant professional experience will be considered. The field of specialization in scholarship and artistic practice is open, and candidates with an interdisciplinary interest and approach in both Theater and Dance are especially encouraged to apply. The teaching assignment of five courses per year may include an interdisciplinary introduction to Theater and Dance; beginning and advanced courses in Dance technique and choreography; and courses in Dance theory and history. All Colgate faculty are expected to contribute to all-university Programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. Letter of application, curriculum vitae, and three current reference letters must be submitted by December 2, 2018.
