The Department of Physics at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in theoretical high energy physics. We especially encourage candidates with a proven track record of research in collider physics, neutrino physics and/or physics beyond the standard model to apply. The high energy physics group at Oklahoma State University consists of two theoreticians, three experimentalists, several postdocs, and numerous students. The theorists work closely with the experimentalists, who are actively involved in the ATLAS experiment. In addition, the HEP group is part of the state-wide Oklahoma Center for High Energy Physics. The successful candidate is expected to attract extramural research funding, publish scholarly articles, and teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

OSU is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty (currently 25% of the Physics Department faculty are from underrepresented groups). The Department of Physics welcomes applications from outstanding candidates, who, through their research, teaching, and/or service will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the Department of Physics. A Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field is required, as well as the promise of excellence in teaching and the ability to mentor students from underrepresented groups.

The appointment is at the Assistant Professor level, with an expected start date of August 1, 2019. Candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, list of publications, brief research and teaching plans, and arrange for three letters of recommendation. Applications should be submitted via Interfolio (https://apply.interfolio.com/58851). Review of applications will begin on January 31, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled. All positions are contingent upon available funding. Any questions should be directed to Dr. K.S. Babu (kaladi.babu@okstate.edu).
