Postdoctoral Scholar - ATLAS

The Enrico Fermi Institute at the University of Chicago invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to be associated with the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. 

The UChicago ATLAS group carries out a diverse physics program, plays a central role in several upgrades to the ATLAS detector and trigger, and is actively involved in Run 3 operations. The successful candidate will be expected to lead innovative searches for physics beyond the Standard Model, and make significant contributions to the experiment. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work with graduate and undergraduate students. There are no teaching responsibilities associated with this position. Work may take place at CERN or at the University of Chicago. This position could begin as early as Spring 2023. 

The appointment will be at the internal University rank of Postdoctoral Scholar, which is open to individuals who are less than seven years beyond attainment of the Ph.D. degree. Priority will be given to candidates who received their PhD in 2019 or later. Applicants should have a PhD in experimental particle physics, a strong record of accomplishments in physics analysis, and be highly motivated to work on cutting edge instrumentation.
