The Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Münster invites applications for a full-time, initially two-year position as Research Associate (Salary Scale TV-L 13) in the group of Prof. M. Klasen. Other permanent scientists in the institute include Prof. J. Heitger, PD Dr. K. Kovarik, Prof. A. Kulesza and Jun. Prof. K. Schmitz. The focus area "Particle Physics" includes also experimental groups (ALICE, BESIII, CBM, IceCube, KATRIN, PANDA, and XENON) in the neighboring Institute for Nuclear Physics. The appointment will start on September 1, 2023 or later. The official teaching duty is four hours per week.
Tasks include active participation in research and teaching in the fields of theoretical nuclear, particle, or astroparticle physics, in particular within the scope of the DFG Research Training Group "Strong and weak interactions - from hadrons to dark matter" as well as a BMBF focus area on LHC physics. The prerequisite for this appointment is a Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics.
The University of Münster is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the proportion of women in academics. Consequently, we actively encourage applications by women. Female candidates with equivalent qualifications and academic achievements will be preferentially considered within the framework of the legal possibilities. We also welcome applications from candidates with severe disabilities. Disabled candidates with equivalent qualifications will be preferentially considered.
Applications with the usual documents (letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, research statement, list of publications and talks, three separate letters of reference) should be addressed before December 11, 2022 to
