The quantum condensed matter theory group at UMass Amherst invites appli-cations for postdoctoral scholars. The successful candidate will be expected to work with Tigran Sedrakyan, and collaborations with other faculty at UMass Amherst in that area, including Romain Vasseur, Boris Svistunov and Nikolai Prokofiev, will be encouraged. Topics of interest cover a wide range of areas including strongly correlated systems, topological states of matter, spin liq-uids, exotic phases in cold atom systems, nonequilibrium quantum physics, many-body localization and related topics. The appointments are expected to be for 2 years (subject to satisfactory performance during the first year) start-ing Fall 2019, and include competitive salary, benefits, and travel funding.

Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in theoretical physics or a closely related field by the time of the appointment. Preferred qualifications include experience in strongly correlated systems, topological phases of matter, spin liquids, exotic phases in cold atom systems, nonequilibrium quantum physics, many-body lo-calization and related topics of theoretical condensed matter physics.
