Position Description: |
The Valencia Experimental Group of Astroparticles at IFIC (Valencia, Spain) has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral position in high-energy astroparticle physics within the KM3NeT collaboration. The contract is for two years with a possible extension of up to one year. The gross annual salary is 44 k€. The contract includes health insurance via the Spanish National Health System. The candidate will be based at IFIC. Travels to other institutions of the KM3NeT collaboration, attendance to collaboration meetings and workshops are foreseen. The candidate must hold a PhD in physics or astronomy. She/he should have excellent analysis and software skills, teamwork abilities and be fluent in English. The candidate is expected to contribute to the operation of the KM3NeT detectors, in particular the development of the online event reconstruction and the online system for alert handling of KM3NeT, and enhance the dissemination channels and content for follow-ups of external alerts in a multi-messenger context. The work includes also the integration of the triggered KM3NeT data into multi-instrument analysis pipelines in coordination with other research infrastructures. Interested physicists are invited to submit their application, including a cover motivation letter, curriculum vitae, list of publications and copies of university degrees. They should also arrange for three letters of recommendation. The application deadline is 15th November 2022. Later applications may be considered until the position is filled.
