Associate in Research or Postdoctoral Associate – Methane Mitigation Duke’s Nicholas School of Environment in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking an Associate in Research or a Postdoctoral Associate with experience in quantitative analysis of greenhouse gas emissions and/or emissions abatement potentials. The position will be supervised by Dr. Drew Shindell (https://nicholas.duke.edu/people/faculty/shindell). The researcher will advance efforts to provide comprehensive data to support policy makers in optimizing methane emissions reductions. Analyses will include mitigation potential from both technical controls and behavioral changes as well as regulatory or financial policies that can encourage such mitigation.

The candidate must have at least a BS/BA degree in a related field, be fluent in computer programming, preferably python, and will ideally have experience in working with greenhouse gas emissions or abatement data. The candidate should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively and have a good command of English. Potential collaboration with US EPA researchers in nearby Research Triangle Park.

Time Frame Initial appointment will be for 1 year, with possibility to extend to 2 or 3 years. Position is available starting immediately, with priority consideration for applications submitted by Dec 31st. Application Process
