The Duke University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Children’s Health and Discovery Institute are jointly seeking a translational reproductive/fetal immunologist faculty candidate.

We are seeking an early to mid-career scientist (PhD) or physician-scientist (MD or MD-PhD) who focuses on immunology of the maternal-fetal interface, including, but not limited to: maternal/fetal/neonatal immune development, immunologic protection against maternal/neonatal infections, and immune responses of pregnancy. We are seeking candidates for this position as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor who have an interest in collaborating with both basic scientists and clinicians around questions of maternal-fetal immunology and early life immune development as it relates to maternal and infant health.

This faculty member will also play an integral role as an initial member of the new Children’s Health and Discovery Institute within the Department of Pediatrics, which has a goal of assessing the role of maternal-fetal immune interactions on long-term health outcomes. This partnership hire between two clinical departments (Pediatrics and OB/GYN) and the Chancellor’s Translating Duke Health Immunology and Children’s Discovery Initiative will facilitate collaboration between basic scientists and clinicians, leveraging available unique sample repositories and patient populations, as well as the extensive core resources, including sequencing and bioinformatics resources already in place at Duke.
