The Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Richmond, Virginia, is recruiting a new or established investigator for a non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Research interests should include the area of epigenetic gene regulation and regulation of mitochondrial function and homeostasis. The Department and the School of Medicine have significant strengths in microbial pathogenesis, microbiome analysis, allergic disease mechanisms, inflammation, vaccine development, tumor immunology, and analysis of lipid mediators involved in innate and adaptive immunity. The successful applicant would be expected to maintain an active research program and participate in department teaching and service opportunities as well as PhD, MD/PhD training. The Department offers excellent laboratory facilities, competitive salary, and access to numerous core facilities including flow cytometry, transgenic/knockout mouse development, microscopy core, lipidomics/metabolomics core as well as other cores to assist in your research program. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required.
