The Computer Science department at The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University (CSB/SJU) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin Fall 2018. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and scholarship in the liberal arts tradition. Preference will be given to candidates interested in and able to teach a wide range of courses throughout the curriculum to majors as well as non-majors and to mentor student research. All areas in Computer Science are welcome.

Our Computer Science department is well established and has been independent since the early 1980s. We offer a major and minor in Computer Science as well as a major in Numerical Computation. The department is currently going through a transitional period due to retirements making this a great opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to our ongoing rebuilding efforts. Candidates with good communication skills, a desire to be effective team players and an interest in working with students from diverse backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply.

The College of St. Benedict, a residential liberal arts college for women, and St. John's University, a residential liberal arts college for men, are located four miles apart in Central Minnesota just outside metropolitan St. Cloud and 70 miles from Minneapolis. Both are Catholic colleges rooted in the Benedictine tradition, which emphasize quality teaching and a commitment to intercultural learning, diversity and inclusion. Candidates must be at least ABD in Computer Science or a related discipline by the starting date; a Ph.D. is preferred and is required for tenure.
