A salaried full-time research assistant with complete benefits is available in the Vilgalys laboratory at Duke University. The Associate in Research will contribute to projects investigating genetic interactions of symbiotic fungal communities associated with forest tree species (pines, oaks, cottonwoods). Duties include assistance with fieldwork (planting, watering, harvesting) and laboratory experiments (culturing, DNA sequencing; genome analysis). Full-time research experience and molecular biology skills are necessary, and computational skills are highly desirable. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to media and reagent preparation, culturing, molecular biology, genetic analysis, and microscopy.
