The Department of Communication and Media at Merrimack College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor specializing in public relations and strategic communication beginning fall 2018. A Ph.D. in-hand in Communication, Journalism, or a terminal degree in a related field is preferred, but ABD candidates completing by July 1, 2018 will also be considered.

The successful candidate should demonstrate experience and/or the ability to teach introduction to public relations and develop strategic communication courses based on her or his specialization. Courses may include, but are not limited to, public relations campaigns, public relations writing, social media strategies, global strategic communication, crisis communication, and multimedia journalism. The experience and/or ability to teach at least one of our required major courses (public communication, research inquiry, introduction to applied communication, introduction to mass communication, senior seminar) is highly desirable. Merrimack College has a 3/3 course load for tenure track faculty.
