NOTE: This position is ONLY open to graduates of the Duke University MFA in Experimental & Documentary Arts, classes of 2016, 2017, or 2018.
The Department of Art, Art History, and Visual Studies at Duke University is seeking a Post-MFA Documentary Arts Instructor for a one-year teaching appointment in Visual Art. Eligible applicants must have graduated from the MFA|EDA@Duke during the last three academic years (Classes of 2016-2018), and have their degree in hand at the time they begin their teaching at Duke. The successful applicant must be able to teach core undergraduate courses in digital photography (introductory and intermediate/advanced levels), and also will have the opportunity to teach a course of their own design/choosing. The successful applicant will teach five courses total during the academic year. In addition, the Documentary Arts Instructor will have access to a modest professional development fund. Applicants should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, links to 3 samples of recent artistic work, and the names and contact information for three confidential referees.
