Position Landscape Architecture Lecturer Full time position
Appointment dates: August 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019
 
This position requires the candidate to have teaching and/or professional practice experience in contemporary design and the ability to teach design studios grounded in the historical and theoretical foundations of the field. Knowledge of current issues facing landscape architects such as sea level rise, water management, and social and environmental justice, and the agency of design as the key to addressing these issues, will be expected. Expertise in ecological infrastructure and materiality are preferred.

Anticipated Division of Time
 
The lecturer will be responsible for two design studios, one per semester of this one-year contract. This includes one graduate or undergraduate studio that will meet for 3 half days each week during the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters respectively. In addition, the candidate will propose two seminars, one per semester, on contemporary topics in landscape architecture.

Requirements

The lecturer must have at least one professional degree in Landscape Architecture, preferably a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA). Prior teaching experience is desirable but not required.

Supervision Exercised

The lecturer will not have formal advisees assigned to them. However, students will expect to get informal advice on job searches and internship opportunities.
