Chapman University seeks applications for a full-time faculty position in Film Production - Cinematography for its nationally recognized Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, beginning August 2022.

Qualifications

A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in film production or a related discipline or commensurate industry experience and a broad knowledge of cinematography, visual design, and industry practices is required.  Additional requirements include professional industry experience in film, television, emerging media or related industries as well as a proven effective track record of teaching at college level.  

 

An MFA is preferred as are candidates who have varied professional experience and/or varied teaching experience in areas such as cinematography, digital and film technologies, color, composition, lenses, lighting, exposure, color grading, production design, professional workflows and production management for feature films, television, and other forms of contemporary media. Experience in Virtual Production or VR is also a plus.

 

Responsibilities

Faculty duties include teaching, academic advising, and service to Dodge College and Chapman University. The teaching load is 24 credits per academic year, in addition to continued professional work and/or research and scholarship.
