Chapman University and Dodge
College of Film and Media Arts seek applications for a full-time, non-tenure
track faculty position in film production for its nationally recognized Dodge
College of Film and Media Arts beginning August 2023.

Qualifications
|
Candidates should possess a
terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D.) in film production or a related discipline and
broad knowledge of film history and aesthetic theory.
Candidates should have a proven record of teaching directing, working with
actors, script analysis, visual storytelling, and pre-production planning at
an advanced level. In addition, candidates should demonstrate an ongoing
commitment to teaching and creative productivity and a strong potential for
continued creative work of national significance while teaching full-time.
Candidates with varied professional experience or teaching experience in
script development, acting, cinematography, production design, and color
correction for narrative feature films, television, and other forms of
contemporary media are preferred. Experience in VR or AR is also a plus.

Responsibilities
|
Faculty duties include
teaching, academic advising, and service to Dodge College and Chapman
University. The teaching load is 24 credits per academic year, in addition to
continued professional work and/or research and scholarship.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications with a range of $95,000-$105,000. This position is contingent
