The Engineering Master’s Programs and Institute for Enterprise Engineering is looking for an operations and strategic leader. Duke Engineering’s mission is to create leaders who transform organizations, improve performance and accelerate innovation. The Executive in Residence position will be driving execution of strategy and operations, reviewing the efficiency of current functions, planning changes and updates to day-to-day operations and collaborating with the program directors and others to set and meet program objectives. The Executive in Residence will report to the Associate Dean, Engineering Masters Program/Executive Director of the Institute for Enterprise Engineering  and will work closely with school Faculty, staff, Graduate Student Programs and Services and a range of office and departments across campus. 

In this role, you will be expected to work in consultation with program leadership to:

develop and implement new programs and initiatives, including new academic program development, online program enhancements, lifelong learning, and other related topics.
develop and enhance alumni and external relationships and agreements
develop strategic and operational plans and budget including long range and short-term forecasts 
Maintain liaison with internal and external educational and professional organizations to explore new program opportunities, to develop and improve current programs and practices and to represent the interests and capabilities of the School. 
Oversee propram faculty and staff, processes and track operational metrics within master’s program and the institute, including process maps for critical and complex processes, program reviews, program teaching evaluation reviews, student quality assessments, scholarship effectiveness, student satisfaction, faculty training, faculty assessment and feedback, teaching excellence programs, industry engagement, space use and allocation; develop and execute plans for continuous improvement

Preferred candidates will have experience in either an academic, government or corporate setting. The ideal candidate will also have a master’s degree or commensurate industry experience/expertise. The appointment is expected to be an Executive in Residence, although other faculty categories will be considered depending on applicant qualifications.
