The MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) - Statistics and Data Science Center (SDSC) and the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing seek applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct independent research in the area of computational social science. We are looking for candidates with an interest in contributing to interdisciplinary research on machine learning, social networks, and money in politics. The postdoctoral fellow will also engage in maintaining the full ETL (extract, transform, load) pipeline for large-scale computational social science research. The postdoctoral fellow will be mentored by In Song Kim (MIT). The position is available immediately with a start date of May 1, 2023, or earlier.

REQUIRED: a Ph.D. (expected or obtained) in statistics, engineering, computer science, economics, political science, or a related field; strong computational skills; ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment; and a commitment to participating in IDSS activities.
