Adjunct Instructor Positions in Master of National Security (MNSP / Master of Public Policy (MPP) Program (s) 

Overview: Sanford School of Public Policy – MNSP / MPP Program Adjunct Instructor Position for Course on  

The Sanford School of Public Policy is seeking applicants for an adjunct instructor position for a Team-Based Learning for National Security Professionals course. This course fulfills the first part of the capstone requirement and requires knowledge in using a team-based pedagogical approach in Higher Education settings. In this course students are placed into teams and assigned a national security research area. Throughout the semester, students receive instruction on team dynamics, federated research, and collaborative analytical methods. Students will be given a real-world problem, or project, to solve or create through a national security entity. Students will work closely with the faculty member to have the opportunity to focus on one singular project, allowing them to fully benefit from a structured editing process. 

The Adjunct Instructor will: 
  • Teach semester graduate level course 
  • Prepare syllabus that includes course objectives, readings, and assignments 
  • Grade assignments and provide written and verbal feedback on a timely basis 
  • Respond to student questions and issues related to the class; hold office hours 
  • Distribute required course evaluations to students at the end of the semester
  • Provide final course grades within the University required timeframe
  • Use Duke University email address for course/Duke related correspondence
  • Follow Duke University parking regulations
  • Abide by Duke professional standards, including Duke's Harassment Policies and the Consensual Relationship Policy 
  • Protect the confidentiality, privacy, and security of student, staff, business, and other confidential, sensitive, electronic or proprietary information of Duke University from any source and in any form
