Duke University Masters of Public Policy Assistant Writing Instructor Public Policy 155 (Introduction to Policy Analysis) The Assistant Writing Instructor will assist with the delivery of the Public Policy 155 course (Introduction to Policy Analysis). PubPol 155 is a gateway course that introduces future leaders to the study of Public Policy through an overview of the political and social context in which public policy is made, the common obstacles to good decision-making, and several methodologies used in the field of Public Policy. Students learn to apply these concepts to real-world issues through a series of case-study-driven memos and assignments that introduce enduring problems, landmark policies, and contemporary issues in a topical concentration of their choice. The course enrolls students at any level (freshmen to seniors) and is designed for both prospective public policy majors and non-majors with a general interest in public policy. The course will have approximately 130 students enrolled in fall 2022. The Assistant Writing Instructor will be expected to:
Requirements of the position: Bachelor's degree and prior experience as a writing instructor at the college level.
