Pitzer College invites applications for a one-year appointment for Visiting Assistant Professor of Literature beginning Fall 2021. Candidate will teach 5 classes, with at least 2 classes in American literature and 2 classes in Postcolonial Anglophone literature or Comparative Literature. Multicultural approaches are highly desired. A Ph.D. in English or Comparative Literature or by time of appointment is preferred but we will consider ABD candidates. Recent doctoral graduates preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and teaching.

4. Detailed 1-2 paragraph descriptions of 5 courses that they plan to offer at Pitzer in 2020-21. The courses should be a mixture of introductory and advanced courses in the following areas:
• two American literature courses with a multicultural approach and
• two courses in Postcolonial Anglophone literature or Comparative literature
• one course in American literature, Postcolonial Anglophone literature, Comparative literature, literature in translation, or a similar area.
