In particular, we seek candidates whose work on environmental justice analyzes the impacts of energy and climate policy among communities of color in the United States. We are interested in candidates who bring empirical, ethnographic, applied, and/or mixed methods approaches to the analysis of environmental racism, energy, climate change adaptation and mitigation, environmental regulation, urban and regional planning, resource management, food and agriculture, urbanization, water, and/or land use. We are interested in candidates whose research and teaching will focus on the analysis of and solutions to climate-exacerbated racial disparities and the intersections between climate and air quality issues in disadvantaged communities. Familiarity with social movements and a strong justice orientation is desired. We are particularly interested in candidates with a focus on social or racial disparities, with preference for candidates whose teaching topics and applied experience relate to diverse ethnic and minority communities. Candidates with an interest in doing community-based research and developing civic/service-learning courses are highly desirable.
