The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading research-intensive university that is consistently ranked among the world’s top universities. The Department of Psychology at NUS has well-established undergraduate, graduate research and graduate clinical psychology professional training programmes. The department consists of an internationally diverse group of faculty members who are committed to excellence in research and teaching.

We seek applicants for the position of Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology (Educator-Track). The successful applicant is expected to join us in August 2021 as the Department continues to strengthen clinical teaching, supervision, and research in the clinical programme. The Department runs the Clinical and Health Psychology Centre, where psychological services (e.g., assessment and intervention) are provided, while simultaneously serving as a training clinic for clinical psychology interns.

The successful candidate must have at least 6 years of relevant experience after earning a PhD degree or an equivalent doctorate-level qualification in clinical psychology (e.g., DClinPsy, ClinPsyD). Evidence of excellence in teaching and/or clinical supervision is highly desirable. Although leading research programs is not a requirement, the successful candidate is expected to provide research supervision for graduate and undergraduate theses. Other than strong evidence of teaching excellence and educational leadership, the candidate should also possess managerial leadership in running a psychology clinic. The candidate should be familiar with the mental health context in Singapore.

Remuneration is competitive and includes medical, housing, relocation and other benefits.

Applicants should submit the following materials online at https://careers.nus.edu.sg/NUS/job/Kent-Ridge-Senior-Lecturer-(Clinical-Psychology)-Kent/3945744/
  • Full CV, including education, professional background, teaching & supervision, research activities and achievements, honours and awards, and service accomplishments to date.
  • Name and contact details of PhD advisor/supervisor.
  • A Preface (maximum 300 words) that makes the case for your appointment. This should be a highly distilled summary of your key contributions to student learning and educational leadership, guided by your teaching philosophy. Significant achievements in administrative service within a clinical practice setting should be included.
  • A Teaching Statement (maximum 3,000 words) that focuses on evidence of student learning and educational leadership (if applicable). It should articulate your contributions across multiple domains of teaching practice (instruction, supervision, assessment and course design). Evidence of educational leadership can take the form of how you influence peers and others in their teaching practice. Where applicable, you may also briefly explain how your research and clinical practice enhance your teaching in this Teaching Statement.
  • Teaching evaluations and peer review reports, if available. Other evidence of teaching excellence is welcome.
  • Sample module outlines, samples of teaching-learning materials and assessment tasks, if available.
  • ONE letter of reference from the applicant’s main PhD supervisor, to be arranged by the applicant to be submitted directly by the supervisor to Ms Rosalind Chek at psycflr@nus.edu.sg
  • THREE letters of reference (excluding letter from the applicant’s PhD supervisor) to be arranged by the applicant to be submitted directly by the referees to Ms Rosalind Chek at psycflr@nus.edu.sg

The application closes on 31 May 2021
