The Department of Philosophy at the National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. The successful applicant will teach Computational Reasoning, a general education requirement for students in the Faculty of Social Science and Arts, as well as other classes in the philosophy major. This appointment is on the university’s educator-track scheme, which is designed to attract faculty who are especially passionate and dedicated teachers. Successful applicants will be given an initial term contract of 3-5 years, renewable subject to good performance, with the possibility of subsequent promotion to Associate Professor (educator-track) on an open contract. All instruction is in English. Salaries are internationally competitive and housing benefits are offered for non-Singaporean citizens.
Review of applications will begin November 30th, 2022. Applicants should have a PhD in Philosophy or cognate field. They should submit a CV, teaching statement, student evaluations from two recent courses, writing sample, and three letters of reference (in addition to the name and contact details of their main PhD supervisor, from whom the search committee will solicit a letter separately).
