Facility Medical Director: Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital
The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (UMCMS) is seeking a board-certified psychiatrist to serve as the Facility Medical Director (FMD) for The Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital in Worcester, MA. The Facility Medical Director’s primary responsibility is to provide administrative and clinical oversight for the DMH operated and contracted state hospital and community support programs.
We care for those with serious and persistent mental illness who need a longer term stay beyond
outpatient and acute care treatment. We address all aspects of the person’s health and return them safely to the community. We provide extended inpatient care only; forensic opportunities are available.
Family friendly, weekdays only schedule, with excellent state benefits and pension plan. No call (except voluntary for lucrative pay), no weekends, no nights, no holidays. Enjoy 13 paid state and federal holidays, 4 weeks of paid vacation, 2 personal days, and $3,000 annual practice allowance.
The Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital is a Department of Mental Health funded hospital and University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School teaching facility. The position involves academic appointment at the UMCMS, with opportunities for teaching and research. We are located less than an hour from Boston and across the street from the UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester MA.
