Position Description

Yale-NUS College is a highly selective liberal arts and science college in Singapore. Co-founded by Yale University and the National University of Singapore, the College is committed to excellence in research and teaching within a full residential programme that integrates living and learning. Its curriculum educates students in Asian and Western intellectual traditions as well as current scientific thought.

The College is looking to hire a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Psychology. We seek a teacher-scholar who has demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. We are particularly interested in candidates who are enthusiastic about teaching advanced seminars, foundational courses in subfields, introductory courses and/or interdisciplinary courses that bridge Yale-NUS majors.

The position will be on a fixed-term contract of up to two years, starting in Academic Year 2023-2024.

The successful candidate will teach five (5) courses per academic year. Courses are typically capped at 20 students, with opportunities to offer some courses twice in an academic year. The candidate will also assist with advising students, supervising final year projects (capstones), and other duties as needed.

A PhD in a relevant field is required, with at least two (2) years of undergraduate teaching experience strongly preferred. The College offers internationally competitive salaries, housing subsidies, and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Application Procedure

Applications should consist of the following: a cover letter explaining why the position at Yale-NUS is of interest; a full curriculum vitae, including a complete list of courses taught and publications; statement on teaching experience and philosophy; representative teaching evaluations; and the names of three references. Reference letters are not necessary with the initial application but will be requested for competitive applicants.

Applications should be submitted via https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/24282. Review of applications begins on 27 February 2023 and continues until the positions are filled. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted. Questions may be directed to Recruitment Administrative Mailbox, at facultyrecruitment@yale-nus.edu.sg
