The High Energy Physics group at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites outstanding candidates to apply for a post-doctoral associate position on Fermilab’s Intensity Frontier Experiments. The UTA HEP group has nine experimental faculty members, and has made significant contributions to DZero, ATLAS, the International Linear Collider, Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), MicroBooNE, LArIAT and MiniBooNE-DM experiments. The group has been playing significant roles in Higgs searches, SUSY particle searches, and QCD measurements in the ATLAS experiment and has been leading sub-GeV dark matter searches and beyond the Standard Model physics at the next generation neutrino experiments, in particular utilizing the high intensity proton beams at Fermilab.

The UTA HEP group is currently playing leadership roles in the U.S. flagship DUNE both in near and far detectors, MicroBooNE and LArIAT and is contributing to the two upcoming SBN experiments based on LArTPC technology, namely SBND and ICARUS. UTA has a long history of detector construction and commissioning, development and operation of the U.S. ATLAS Grid production and distributed analysis systems, and development of physics analysis tools software and hosts a U.S. ATLAS Tier 2 computing center. The group constructed the field cage for the dual phase prototype DUNE detector (ProtoDUNE DP) currently operating at CERN and will be contributing to the high voltage system construction for the second round of ProtoDUNE campaign and for the DUNE far detector modules. In addition, the group is playing a leadership role in LArTPC near detector design, beam testing and construction.

We are seeking a highly motivated, outstanding PhD physicist, preferably in the area of high energy physics experiment, to be based primarily at Fermilab. We expect the selected candidate to play leading roles in the ICARUS and DUNE experiments. In particular, the successful candidate is expected to make major contributions to the turn on, commissioning, data taking and data analyses of ICARUS experiment and the DUNE far detector high voltage system design and construction. The successful candidate is also expected to lead the development of the sub-GeV and boosted dark matter searches and other beyond the Standard Model physics topics in SBN and DUNE. In addition, the candidate is expected to spend a fraction of their time working with graduate and undergraduate students on ICARUS and DUNE.

Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, publication list, and a statement of research interests. Candidates should also arrange for three letters of reference to be uploaded to AOJ site as part of your application to ensure that the application receives appropriate consideration. Review of the applications will commence immediately and continues until the position is filled.

UTA is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
