INTRODUCTION The Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Connecticut in Storrs invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Behavioral Neuroscience program. We seek a candidate with demonstrated scholarly interest in translational neuroscience using cutting-edge, laboratory-based techniques (e.g., optogenetics, chemo-genetics, calcium imaging, molecular/genetic methods, high-density electrophysiological recording techniques) to examine the neural processes and circuits underlying behavior in animal models. Ideal candidates will have research that complements UConn's strengths in systems, cognitive and computational neuroscience who can establish fruitful collaborations in the Department of Physiology and Neurobiology and in the Institute for Brain and Cognitive Sciences. We are also interested in applicants whose work would have translational relevance, either through the use of animal models or disease related processes. The Psychological Sciences Department includes Ph.D. programs in Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical, Developmental, Ecological, I/0, Language and Cognition, and Social Psychology. There are currently 58 full-time faculty and 130 full-time doctoral students. The Department and University have a commitment to pursuing inclusive excellence. APPOINTMENT TERMS This appointment is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2024. The successful candidate’s academic appointment will be at the Storrs campus. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
