KIAA-PKU Postdoctoral Research Fellows on Early Growth and Evolution of Quasars
The Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA) at Peking University invites applications for postdoctoral research positions. The appointment will be for two years, renewable for a third year subject to a performance evaluation and the availability of funding.
We seek qualified applicants to work with Prof. Kohei Inayoshi, Ran Wang, and Luis Ho on the following topics:
(1) Black hole growth and formation: Working on radiation hydrodynamical simulations of formation and growth of massive black holes in high-redshift galaxies. In particular, we aim to model the electromagnetic signatures from those high-redshift galaxies and accreting black holes and to compare them with future/ongoing observational data (e.g., JWST and ALMA).
(2) Co-evolution of AGNs and their host galaxies: Working on topics related to the observational studies of AGN host galaxies. Applicants with experience on observational studies of AGN host galaxies, especially expertise in ALMA/mm interferometry, optical imaging, or optical IFU data analysis are especially encouraged to apply.
KIAA at Peking University is an intellectual platform for scientific exchange. KIAA is engaged in national and international theoretical and observational initiatives, development and use of facilities, and student training, pursued in partnerships with other Kavli institutes and a network of domestic and international astronomy centers. For more information on KIAA, see http://kiaa.pku.edu.cn.
